The Lousiana Tech Bulldogs look to move a step closer to the CUSA title with a win at the Old Dominion Monarchs.
The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs can score and defend as well as anybody and the reward is a 21 win season and first place in the CUSA with just four games remaining on the schrdule. The Bulldogs have been clicking with wins in seven of eight after squeezing by Charlotte 83-82 in overtime. The 49ers hit shots at 43% with La Tech connecting at almost 48% with 16 turnovers hurting them in an otherwise even contest where neith team dominated any one area. Alex Hamilton saved the Bulldogs with a contest high 29 points on 11-22 shooting followed by Michale Kyser and Raheem Appleby with 12 points and a combined 19 rebounds. Kenneth Smith added nine points, six pulls and five assists with Xavian Stapleton chipping in with eight.

The Old Dominion Monarchs have their sights set on a 20 win season and a spot in the top four of the CUSA with four games remaining on the schedule. The Monarchs appeared to be heading for trouble with consecutive defeats before Southern Mississippi came to town and laid an egg in 64-38 defeat on Thursday. ODU broke open a competitive contest with a 40-19 second half where it didn't seem the Golden Eagles could make a shot or stop one. USM was held to 28% accuracy and gave the ball away 17 times while Old Dominion burned the nets at 52% for 14 more baskets. Trey Freeman led all scorers with 18 points on 7-12 marksmanship while Aaron Bacote added ten points and five yanks. Richard Ross, Jonathan Arledge and Ambrose Moseley ech scored eight points with ODU havin no shortage of scoring options.
