The Niagara Purple Eagles have really had problems over the past several seasons and this year has been a battle to get some scoring punch and defensive stops on a weekly basis. The Purple Eagles have been outscored 73-64 ad is the reason for their lastplace standing in the MAAC and an overall 5-21 record. The Purple Eagles will be looking for back to back wins after upending Fairfield 55-53 on the road Thursday as they made an early ten point lead stand up. Both teams sank shots in the 38%-39% range wit the Stags nailing eight more three pointers while the visitors won the foul line 15-5. Dominique Reid scored 14 points and grabbed a game high eleven rebounds while Wesley Myers netted 13 points. Ramone Snowden and James Suber combined for 17 points with the rest of the team adding just three points.

The Rider Broncs have not had a whole lot to play for in recent seasons but they are 14-3 in the MAAC at one game behind Iona with three to play so they need to win out and hope the Gaels falter. The Broncs seem to be able to lean on their defense when necessary or score if needed with both having a hand in a five game winning streak following a 94-83 win against visiting Quinnipiac on Thursday. The Bobcats fell behind by ten and couldn't make a comeback with 43% shooting because Rider was a red hot 51% from the floor and 28-34 from the charity stripe. Jimmie Taylor poured in a game high 22 points on 6-7 shooting which included four bombs while Teddy Okereafor added 20 points, six boards and six helpers. Junior Fortunat and Matt Lopez netted ten and eight points with Kahlil Thomas and Zedric Sadler tossing in seven points each.
