Saint Joseph's Hawks vs. St. Bonaventure Bonnies - 2/21/15 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Saint Joseph's Hawks dropped to 11-14 (5-8 A-10) on the season after being defeated by the Dayton Flyers, 68-64, this past Thursday. Saint Joseph's shot 48.0% from the field and 47.4% (9-19) from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Hawks was DeAndre Bembry who had 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists. Saint Joseph's is ranked 168th in the RPI Standings and has played the 110th ranked SOS. On the season, the Hawks have been led by DeAndre Bembry (18.0 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 3.2 apg) and Isaiah Miles (10.9 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 1.0 bpg). Saint Joseph's is averaging 61.6 ppg (ranked 304th) on 40.7% shooting (ranked 292nd). The Hawks are averaging 5.4 three-pointers per game (ranked 261st) on just 29.6% three-point shooting (ranked 323rd). Saint Joseph's is holding their opponents to an average of 64.3 ppg (ranked 123rd) on 43.4% shooting (ranked 205th).  The Hawks average 4.7 bpg (ranked 46th) and commit 16.4 personal fouls per game (ranked 55th).

The Bonnies are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record however, just 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games following a S.U. loss. The Hawks are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games.

Although Saint Bonaventure has lost three straight, they've shown over the past month that they can be quite competitive with any team in the A-10 as they had great victories against Davidson and VCU along with close losses at URI and at home vs. UMass. Saint Joseph's is a much better team at home than on the road, however, I think Marcus Posley has another big game against Saint Joseph's and that the Bonnies pull off the win on the road. Take St. Bonaventure and the point in this one.
