The VMI Keydets need a strong showing to take down the Western Carolina Catamounts at the Ramsey Center.
The odds are against the Virginia Military Keydets to nab a top four spot in the Southern as they need to sweep the final three games and get loads of help. However the Keydets could win out and have momentum on their side which might be more valuable. The high powerd offense was key in an 84-69 victory at the Citadel with a 52 point burst over the final 20 minutes putting this game away. The Bulldogs owned a 47%-43.7% shooting edge but VMI connected on 15-41 from distance with Tim Marshall tssing in a game high 26 points on eight bombs. Brian Brown netted 20 on six more threes while Phillip Anglade added 17 points and seven boards with Trey Chapman chipping in with ten.

The Western Carolina Catamounts could guarantee themselves a solid chance at a top four finish by winning their last three games and then hoping #4 seed East Tennessee State loses. The Catamounts are no stranger to scoring the basketball but have shown some inconsistency at both ends of the floor. WCU had nothing going for them in a 75-55 defeat at the hands of visiting Wofford as the Terriers jumped to a nine point lead and continued to pour it on. The Terriers hit half their looks including 13-26 from beyond the arc while the Catamounts 30.5% accuracy couldn't keep up. Torrion Brummitt was Western Carolina's best offensive option with 15 points on 5-8 from the floor followed by a 12 point, nine rebound effort from James Sinclair. Mike Brown added nine points and six boards but there were not enough scorers.
The Keydets are 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 Saturday games and are 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win. The Catamounts are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. Western Carolina are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. This one comes down to whether VMI hits their threes because they'll shoot 40 of them...
