The Memphis Tigers travel to UCF Arena to battle conference rival the Central Florida Knights.
The Memphis Tigers didn't look like a challenger in the American Athletic early on but are looking like it now as they try to catch Cincinnati for the 4th spot. The Tigers are heading in the right direction with back to back wins after a 75-72 victory versus visiting Connecticut on Thursday. The Huskies sank shots at nearly 41% while Memphis hit at 47% with UConn using 18 offensive rebounds to stay in the game. Kedren Johnson gave the offense 21 points and six assists on 6-9 shooting while Austin Nichols added 16 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks. Markel Crawford followed with 14 points with Avery Woodson and Shaq Goodwin netting eleven and eight points with Goodwin posting five pulls and five helpers.

Winning streaks and the Central Florida Knights are not something that have been associated with one another all that often but UCF might have something going with three consecutive victories. The Knights downed Tulane 69-55 on Thursday to record the season sweep as a seven point road underdog. A ten point first half lead did the trick with Central Florida burning the nets at 53% shooting including a 12-20 effort on three pointers while the Green Wave were limited to 34% marksmanship which wasn't enough to stay competitive. Kasey Wilson poured in a game high 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds with BJ Taylor adding 16 points and five yanks. Adonys Henriquez netted 15 points while Staphon Blair chipped in with nine points.
The Tigers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. American Athletic Conference. Memphis are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Knights are 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 11-5-1 ATS in their last 17 vs. American Athletic Conference. Central Florida are 7-17-1 ATS in their last 25 home games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Central Florida could have some momentum here but Memphis needs this win so I'll lay the chalk...
