The Cal State Fullerton Titans take on the Cal State Matadors at Matador Gymnasium Thursday night.
The Cal State Fullerton Titans don't have many goals that can be achieved with the regular season winding down except they can escape the Big West basement. The Titans have struggled to play a full 40 minutes of basketball and it shows in their 1-11 conference record. The Titans are coming off of a 69-54 loss to visiting Santa Barbara where the Gauchos won it with a 49-30 opening half. UCSB sank shots at 49% and along with eight more looks totaled eight more baskets then the 40% shooting home team. Lanerryl Johnson was the only double digit scorer with 15 points on 4-10 from the floor while Moses Morgan scored nine. Jordan Mason and Sheldon Blackwell netted seven points apiece and combined for ten rebounds but the rest of the team was quiet.

The Cal State Northridge Matadors are being outscored 70-64 and have been fortunate to break the 60 point barrier in conference action so I would say this team's biggest issues are scoring the basketball. The scoring problems were front and center in Saturday's 67-58 defeat at UC Irvine where a seven point deficit heading to the locker room was too big to overcome. The Matadors held a slight 43%-41.7% shooting edge but the Anteaters totaled 16 more looks at the basket which they turned in to six more makes which was the biggest difference. Leading scorer Stephan Hicks paced the attack with 16 points on 6-12 from the floor while Aaron Parks tossed in 13. Landon Drew and Devonte Elliott added nine and seven points but the team needed one more offensive threat.
The Titans are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Fullerton are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and 10-24-1 ATS in their last 35 Thursday games. The Matadors are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. Big West. Northridge are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games overall and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Northridge has dominated this match up but we are talking about two teams that are a combined 3-22 in conference play so for that reason I'll take the points...
