The Marshall Thundering Herd clash with the Florida International Golden Panthers at the Cam Henderson Center.
The time for the Florida International Golden Panthers to make a run at the top half of the CUSA has come and gone but a strong finish could give them a +.500 record and perhaps some consideration for a postseason appearance somewhere. If that is to happen the Golden Panthers will need more scoring which didn't happen in Saturday's 70-56 loss to visiting North Texas. The Mean Green pulled away late on a 31-21 run to win easily despite FIU holding a 43%-38% shooting edge. UNT won because they turned 15 turnovers and 17 offensive rebounds in to 15 more looks at the basket and four more makes. Dennis Mavin led the offense with 19 points and five yanks with Adrian Diaz adding 13 points, five pulls and six steals. Dominique Williams netted 12 points and posted seven boards with the rest of the scoring 12.

The Marshall Thundering Herd looked like they were going to make a run to the middle of the pack of the CUSA with a three game winning streak a few weeks ago but back to back defeats have the team near the bottom of the conference. When the Thundering Herd struggle both end of the floor are generall involve which we saw in a 72-54 loss at Alabama-Birmingham on Saturday. The Blazers were up nine at the half and were never challenged with 41% marksmanship easily outdistancing Marshall's 28.8% which equaled ten more baskets. Justin Edmonds was the lone double digit scorer with eleven points with Ryan Taylor adding nine points and seven boards. Austin Loop and JP Kambola combined for 13 points with Kambola snaring eight rebounds but nobody else scored more then four points.
The Golden Panthers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. FIU are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a double-digit loss at home. The Thundering Herd are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games and 16-33-2 ATS in their last 51 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record while going 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Not a made for TV game and that's about the only thing that's certain here...
