The Chattanooga Mocs travel to Cameron Hall to try and slow the quick strike offense of the VMI Keydets.
The Chattanooga Mocs are second in the SoCon behind Wofford because they score points in bunches and get whatever effort needed at the defensive end of the floor. The Mocs have won eight of ten following a 67-59 win against visiting East Tennessee State Saturday as a 5.5 point favorite. The Buccaneers only hit at 30% but stayed reasonably close with 19 Mocs giveaways leading the way to 17 more shot attempts. That still made the Mocs 39.5% shootng a winner with seven more free throws sealing the deal. Chattanooga received 20 points on 4-7 from the floor from Ronrico White with Casey Jones next in line with 17 points and seven rebounds on 6-11. Greg Pryor tossed in eleven while Eric Robertson and Justin Tuoyo combined for 17 points with Tuoyo hauled in 12 rebounds and blocked seven shots.

If I were asked to describe the Virginia Military Keydets I would say they try to run the floor and shoot threes until their arms fall off and hope they have one more point then the opposition. Probably not the best way to go about things as the team is in the middle of the coference standings but it has worked lately with the Keydets owning a three game winning streak after a 113-111, double overtime thriller at Western Carolina. The Catamounts held a 51.6%-46% shooting edge which accounted for six more baskets but VMI nailed 20-46 from beyond the arc and 25-32 from the line to prevail. Julian Eleby exploded for 43 ponts and seven boards on 11-22 from the field including an 8-15 mark on threes with Tim Marshall netting 18. Jordan Weethee added 15 points and nine pulls while Phillip Anglade and Jarid Watson combined for 21 points with Watson snaring 11 rebounds.
The Mocs are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Thursday games and 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 road games following three or more consecutive home games while going 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Keydets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. Southern. VMI are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games after scoring more than 90 points in their previous game. Both teams are playing well but I guess I'd have to take a very good Chattanooga squad if I had to bet this...
