The Rider Broncs close the season with the Marist Red Foxes at Alumni Gymnasium on Sunday.
Almost a month ago it appeared as if the Marist Red Foxes had found the elusive groove with four consecutive victories. However, the Red Foxes followed five straight defeats with the end result being last in the MAAC. A 69-67 victory versus visiting Saint Peter's got the team back on the winning side of the ledger but the bottom line is it's too little too late. Marist looked far superior to the Peacocks with an 18 point lead before SPC mounted a comeback that needed another minute to be successful. The Red Foxes sank shots at a 52% pace with the Peacocks using 16 more attempts to stay close with their 41.7% marksmanship. Leading scorer Chavaughn Lewis tossed in a game high 25 points and six assists with TJ Curry and Khallid Hart adding 13 and 12 points.

The Rider Broncs are enjoying their best season in recent memory at 20-10 overall and second place in the MAAC. However the Broncs need a win in the last game of the season to guarantee themselves the second seed. The Broncs have been on fire with victories in eight of ten after squeezing by Monmouth 63-60 on the road Thursday. The Hawks were held to 35% accuracy with the visitors countering with 37.7% which would have been much better were it not for a 3-17 performance from beyond the arc. Teddy Okereafor was the go to scorer with a game high 21 points and eight boards on 6-13 from the floor with Xavier Lundy right on his heels with a 17 point, nine rebound effort on 7-10 shooting. Junior Fontenat chipped in with seven points and seven pulls but almost cost his team with a 3-10 mark at the line.
The Red Foxes are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 road games. Marist are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games following three or more consecutive home games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. The Broncs are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic. Rider are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win and 3-11-1 ATS in their last 15 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. I don't know if Matt Lopez is playing or not so I'll take a small chance with the points...
