The Wake Forest Demon Deacons look to pull the upset of the visiting Pittsburgh Panthers on Sunday.
Despite a 19-10 record the Pittsburgh Panthers are right in the middle of the pack in the ACC at 8-7. With three games remaining on the schedule the Panthers would probably need a stong finish and run in the conference playoffs to secure an NCAA invite. The Panthers have been playing well with wins in three of four after downing Boston College 71-65 on Tuesday as an 8.5 point home favorite. Both teams sank shots in the 47% range with Pitt forcing 14 turnovers for a few more baskets while holding a 24-17 edge at the stripe. Jamel Artis and Michael Young formed a nice one, two punch with 24 and 22 points and a combined 17 rebounds followed by Cameron Wright with ten and Sheldon Jeter with nine points. The Pitt balance overcame a 39 point effort from the Eagles Olivier Hanlan.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are near the bottom of the conference because the defense tends to struggle and the ACC is packed with teams that can score the basketball. The Demon Deacons are looking to snap a three game skid while hoping to erase the taste of Wednesday's 70-34 rout at the hands of visiting Virginia. A 36-15 deficit at the half set the tone for obvious scoring and defensive woes with the Cavaliers sinking half their looks while Wake was shutdown on less then 22% accuracy while giving the ball away 13 times. UVA had eleven players find the scoring column but Konstantinos Mitoglou was the only double digit scorer for the Demon Deacons with ten points and six pulls. The home team received a combined 13 points from Codi Miller-McIntyre and Madison Jones who was the only one to shoot 50%.
The Panthers are 16-37-3 ATS in their last 56 games following a S.U. win and 7-17-1 ATS in their last 25 games overall. Pittsburgh are 8-20-2 ATS in their last 30 games following a ATS loss and 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 road games. The Demon Deacons are 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games following a SU loss of more than 20 points. Wake Forest are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. Pittsburgh on the road is simply awful but they are the better team and a dog so it smells trapish to me...
