The 16th-ranked Louisville Cardinals improved to 23-6 (11-5 ACC) on the season after defeating the Florida State Seminoles, 81-59, this past Saturday. Louisville shot 48.4% from the field and 44.4% (8-18) from beyond the arc in the victory. Leading the way for the Cardinals was Wayne Blackshear who had 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Louisville is ranked 15th in the RPI Standings and has played the 45th ranked SOS. On the season, the Cardinals have been led by Terry Rozier (17.4 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 2.7 apg) and Montrezl Harrell (15.4 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 1.2 apg). The Fighting Irish are 14-34-3 ATS in their last 51 games following a S.U. loss and just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Cardinals are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 however, just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
Notre Dame had their three-game winning steak snapped and had one of their worse shooting games of the season going only 34.7% from the field and 13.6 (3-22) from beyond the arc. Louisville won their 3rd straight game and for the first time since, Chris Jones dismissal from the team, looked dominant. Both of these teams will be making the NCAA tournament so this game is more for seeding factors for the ACC & NCAA tournament. Notre Dame has been so good on the offensive end this season, it was a surprise to see them struggle as much as they did at home against Syracuse. Although I don't expect Notre Dame to shoot as poorly as they did against Syracuse, going against Louisville defensive is no easy challenge as they've held their last three opponents to 54.3 ppg. It looks to me as Louisville is starting to find their rhythm without Chris Jones in the line-up and I expect to be able to cover this small spread at home against Notre Dame. Take Louisville to cover.
