The CUSA champion Louisiana Tech Bulldogs close out the regular season with a visit from the Southern Miss Golden Eagles.
The Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles haven’t had much to cheer about this season with an offense that scores 60 points shouldering most of the blame. The Golden Eagles won their second in a row when they downed Texas El Paso 63-60 behind a comeback from a 15 point first half deficit. Both teams sank shots in the 40%-41% range with the boxscore virtually dead even with the Golden Eagles sinking a few more free throws for the final margin. Norville Carey and Shadell Millinghaus each scored 17 points and combined for eleven rebounds while Chip Armelin netted 16 points. Four others scored 13 points in what might have been the best game Southern Miss has played.

Erik McCree paced the attack with 16 points and seven boards on 5-13 from the floor with Alex Hamilton next in line with 15 points on 6-9 from the floor. Raheem Appleby and Kenneth Smith followed with 12 points apiece with Smith handing out seven assists while Michale Kyser added ten points, nine rebounds and nine blocks.

La Tech are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Louisiana Tech has zero to play for so do they plaster a bad team or show mercy? No idea really…
