USA TODAY Sports

The 20th-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers dropped to 22-8 (10-7 Big 12) on the season after being defeated by the 9th-ranked Kansas Jayhawks, 76-69 (OT), this past Tuesday. West Virginia shot 34.9% from the field and 36.0% (9-25) from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Mountaineers was Daxter Miles Jr. who had 23 points and 4 rebounds. West Virginia is ranked 23rd in the RPI Standings and has played the 47th ranked SOS. On the season, the Mountaineers have been led by Juwan Staten (14.5 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 4.6 apg) and Devin Williams (10.7 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 1.2 apg). West Virginia is averaging 73.8 ppg (ranked 37th) on 40.9% shooting (ranked 287th). The Mountaineers average 14.4 apg (ranked 64th) and 6.5 three-pointers per game (ranked 150th). West Virginia is holding their opponents to an average of 66.2 ppg (ranked 161st) on 46.4% shooting (ranked 322nd). The Mountaineers average 11.2 spg (ranked 1st) and have a turnover margin of 7.1 (ranked 2nd).

The Cowboys are 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Mountaineers are 4-1 in their last 5 games overall however, just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games.

Oklahoma State picked up a much needed victory to snap a four game losing streak and improve their chances to get into March Madness. West Virginia was without Juwan Staten in this one and it showed as the Mountaineers committed 22 turnovers and couldn't pull of the upset at Allen Fieldhouse even though they held Kansas to 0.0% (0-15) from beyond the arc. Oklahoma State has one of the better defensives in the Big-12, however, at time can to reliant on Nash and Forte III to provide all the offensive. West Virginia has arguably the best pressure defensive in all of college basketball as they will pressure you all game no matter where you are on the court. They key to beating West Virginia is to not to turn the ball over as West Virginia isn't great in half-court offense and can be scored upon if you get through their pressure. This is a big game for Oklahoma State as if they can pull the upset, they can probably feel that they are safely in the tournament, however, West Virginia has been playing great over the last few weeks, and although Staten is questionable with his knee injury, I feel that West Virginia will do enough to cover in this one. Take West Virginia to cover.
