The Wyoming Cowboys are not the flashiest ream around but they do take care of business more often then not which they did in a 67-65 victory against Utah State in the conference quarterfinals. Make some shots in the half court and limit second chances were the keys with the Aggies held to 44% shooting while the Cowboys countered with 48% accuracy which added up to three more baskets and offset ten bombs from USU. Josh Adams paced four double digit scorers with 19 points and six assists on 8-15 shooting with Charles Hankerson Jr. added 16 points and five yanks. Larry Nance Jr. followed with 13 points and seven boards with Riley Grabau netting ten while Derek Cooke Jr. hauled in ten rebounds.
The Boise State Broncos are looking to add the Mountain West postseason championship to their regular season title and took a step in that direction with an 80-68 defeat of Air Force in the quarters. A defensive struggle turned in to a comfortable win with the Broncos lighting up the scoreboard with 48 second half points. The Falcons connected at a hefty 55% but gave the ball away 16 times while BSU sank half their looks with a 12-28 performance from down town while nailing six more free throws. Nick Johnson led the scoring spree with a game high 23 points which included seven bombs while Derrick Marks added 13 points, five yanks and five helpers. Igor Hadziomerovic and Robert Heyer tossed in eleven points apiece with James Webb III chipped in with eight points.
The Cowboys are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Wyoming are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Mountain West. The Broncos are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Boise State are 14-2 ATS in their last 16 games overall and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 Friday games. No slam dunk here but the Broncos have been tough to handle…
