Michigan State vs. Virginia - 3/22/15 NCAA Tournament Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Virginia Cavaliers have won five of their last seven and are coming off a win over Belmont. On the season, Virginia is averaging 65.8 points on 46.3 percent shooting and is allowing 51.2 points on 36.6 percent shooting. Malcolm Brogdon is averaging 13.9 points and 2.5 assists while Justin Anderson is averaging 12.3 points and 4.1 rebounds. Anthony Gill is the third double-digit scorer and Darion Atkins is grabbing 5.7 rebounds. The Virginia Cavaliers have five players averaging at least 7.1 points, and they’re shooting 72.3 percent from the line and 36.1 percent from deep. Defensively, Virginia is allowing 30.6 percent shooting from deep and has given up 67 or less points in nine of its last 10 games.

The Spartans are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 non-conference games and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 NCAA Tournament games. The Cavaliers are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 non-conference games and 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games following a ATS loss.

Once again, I take Tom Izzo and the free points just about anytime I can, especially in a tournament game. I think Virginia wins, but this game should come down to the wire and the points are likely going to come in handy.
