Senior Guard Quenton DeCosey is coming off of a 12.3 points per game, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assist season. While Senior Forward Jaylen Bond is coming off of a season where he averaged 7.6 points per game, 7.9 rebounds and .7 blocks. These two will be the leaders for the Owls this season. Temple will be a bit younger this year and with a tough out of conference schedule it could be a rough year. Temple will begin their season with a tough test against North Carolina.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are coming off of a 26-12 season where the Wisconsin Badgers eliminated them in the sweet 16. Fortunately for Tar Heel fans they are practically returning all of their best players and have been pre season ranked #1 because of that. The Tar Heels will be lead by Senior Point Guard Marcus Paige who last season averaged 14.1 points per game, 4.5 assists, and 1.7 steals. The interior will be lead by Junior Forward Kennedy Meeks who last season averaged 11.4 points a game and 7.3 rebounds. North Carolina also brings back Brice Johnson and Justin Jackson. The Tar Heels are loaded with talent and experience and look to be ready for a deep run come March. The Tar Heels will open up against Temple at a neutral site in Maryland.
North Carolina is 5-2 against the spread in their last 7 non-conference games. The Tar Heels are 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 neutral site games. Temple is 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 Friday games. The Owls are 1-6 against the spread in their last 7 neutral site games.
The North Carolina Tar Heels are without a question going to be one of the best teams in college basketball this year. Their roster is too good not to be. The Tar Heels return their key player Marcus Paige who can take over any game, unfortunately he wont be available for this game due to a broken hand. Even with that the Tar Heels should be fine here. The Temple Owls look to be young and inexperienced this season. This looks to be an easy one for the Tar Heels. Take North Carolina to cover.
