The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos are coming off of a close 60-59 win over Nebraska-Omaha winning on a last minute tip-in. Guard John Green who recorded a double double scoring 22 points and grabbing 13 rebounds led the Gauchos. Guard Gabe Vincent also added 16 points. The Gauchos shot only 34.9% from the field and shot a disappointing 18.2% from the field. UC Santa Barbara will have to shoot better than this if they want to beat California.
The Gauchos are 1-5 against the spread in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600. UC Santa Barbara are 1-3-1 against the spread in their last 5 games overall. California is 7-1 against the spread in their last 8 Monday games. The Golden Bears are 4-1 against the spread in their last 5 home games.
California looked good after playing their first game. The Golden Bears shot the ball well from all over the floor while the Gauchos shot the ball very poorly and were lucky to come up with a victory. At home California should have no problem covering the spread if they shoot like they did in their first game. Take California to cover at home.
