The Rice Owls are playing their second game of the season on the road after getting blow out at Cal in their opener. Rice shot 36.7 percent from the floor and 35.3 percent from beyond the three-point arc but they allowed Cal to shoot 50.7 percent. Egor Koulechov led Rice with 19 points and eight rebounds. Marcus Evans scored 18 points, Max Guercy scored right points, and Connor Cashaw had six points. Rice faced much tougher in their first game but they will still be in a tough spot in this one.
San Francisco is 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five home games, 3-1-1 against the spread following a win and 3-0-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record. Rice is 5-0 against the spread following a loss, 5-1 against the spread in their last six road games, and 5-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record.
Rice is going to need help to avoid getting blown out again but I don’t see them getting enough of it as I have San Francisco covering here.
