The Nebraska Cornhuskers and Villanova Wildcats square off Tuesday night at The Pavilion.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers look for a 2-0 start after beating Mississippi Valley State on Saturday. The Nebraska Cornhuskers are averaging 97 points on 54.4 percent shooting and are allowing 51 points on 25.9 percent shooting. Andrew White is averaging 18 points and one rebound while Jack McVeigh is averaging 16 points and four rebounds. Shavon Shields is dishing two assists and Nick Fuller is grabbing nine rebounds. The Nebraska Cornhuskers got back to their defensive roots, as they forced 21 turnovers and allowed just three threes. Nebraska is at its best when it plays pressure defense and creates easy transition offense, which it was able to do Friday night. Nebraska has lost 10 straight road games.

The Villanova Wildcats look for another victory after beating Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday. The Villanova Wildcats are averaging 91 points on 46.4 percent shooting and are allowing 54 points on 27 percent shooting. Daniel Ochefu is averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds while Kris Jenkins is averaging 14 points and seven rebounds. Jalen Brunson is dishing four assists and Josh Hart is grabbing six rebounds. The Villanova Wildcats grabbed 53 rebounds and made 10 threes in their season opening victory. Villanova is a deep team on both ends of the court and is the team to beat once again in the Big East. Villanova hasn’t lost a home game since January of 2014.
The Cornhuskers are 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 road games and 5-11 ATS in their last 16 Tuesday games. The Wildcats are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and 38-14 ATS in their last 52 home games.
Nebraska is capable of being one of the better defensive teams in the country and is sure to put a ton of pressure on the Wildcats. This spread is way too high for my taste. The Cornhuskers will keep this close simply with a defense that doesn't give up easy looks.
