The Texas State Bobcats pay a visit to the Texas El Paso Miners on Saturday night.
The real season begins now after the Texas State Bobcats opened the year with an 84-49 rout of sub division Texas-Tyler that served as a stat builder. The Bobcats opened a 39-15 lead heading to the locker room and never looked back. The Patriots were in a hopeless situation with less then 32% shooting while committing 25 turnovers which turned in to 19 more looks for the 47.6% shooting Bobcats. Kevin Gilder-Tilbury scored a game high 15 points and snagged nine rebounds with Maijhun McCrea netting eleven points and hauling in nine boards. Overall 13 players received floor time and each managed to score.

The Texas El Paso Miners opened the season with an automatic win when they crushed sub division Loyola (LA) 96-49. Loyola was done at the opening tip as they were held to only 30% from the floor including 4-24 from down town. The Miners sank shots at just under 48%, owned a 33-11 advantage at the foul line and dominated the backboards 52-27. UTEP received a game high 17points from Lee Moore followed by a 16 point, nine rebound and eight assist performance from Dominic Artis. Hooper Vint also scored 16 points while six players netted between 5-9 points with eleven seeing the floor.
Texas State are 2-10-1 ATS in their last 13 Saturday games and the over is 6-2 in their last 8 Saturday games while the Bobcats are 7-18-2 ATS in their last 27 games overall.
