The East Tennessee State Buccaneers broke the 100 point barrier in building a 2-0 record before their offense went south in an 86-51 loss to Villanova. The Wildcats led by 22 after 20 minutes and kept the carnage going until the final buzzer. Nova burned the nets at almost 51% including a 14-34 effort from down town. ETSU simply couldn’t stay competitive on 32% from the floor with Villanova having advantages throughout the boxscore. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have not gotten much respect in the ACC preseason polls but they are certainly playing well right now with their offense churning out the points. The Yellow Jackets lit up the scoreboard in a 107-77 victory versus Green Bay to up their record to 3-0. The Jackets were up by 26 points after 20 minutes behind strong play at both ends of the floor. The Phoenix were held to less then 41% shooting while GT burned the nets at 56% which included an 11-24 mark from down town. Charles Mitchell led the scoring spree with 15 points and 12 rebounds followed by Quinton Stephens and Adam Smith with 14 points apiece. Josh Heath and Marcus Georges-Hunt netted 13 points each with Nick Jacobs scoring 12.
East Tennessee State are 5-14 ATS in their last 19 games overall while the under is 6-2 in Georgia Tech’s last 8 home games. It’s hard to go against the Yellow Jackets the way they are scoring and I don’t think East Tennessee State can score with them although I gravitate to the points…
