The New Jersey Tech Highlanders look to deliver the Providence Friars their first defeat Monday.
The New Jersey Tech Highlanders have been given some high praise as they enter their first season in the Atlantic Sun. After dropping their opener to Kentucky the Highlanders have won three straight after knocking off Lafayette 80-66 behind great defense ad scoring. The Leopards hit shots at 39% but NJIT sank half their looks and hit four more long balls. Terrence Smith and Ky Howard each scored 17 points with Howard posting seven helpers. Tim Coleman added 16 points and 14 rebounds while Winfield Willis and Damon Lynn added 15 and eleven points respectively.

The Providence Friars are penciled in as a top four squad in the Big East and have begun the year as expected with three consecutive victories. The Friars offense carried the day in an easy 94-73 rout of outmanned Brown Saturday. Even though the Bears shot the ball at around 45% the Friars burned the nets at 57% which added up to a decisive eight more field goals. Rodney poured in a game high 24 points and hauled in ten rebounds on 9-12 with Ryan Fazekas adding 17 points. Jalen Lindsey followed with 16 points while Kris Dunn and Junior Lomombe netting eleven points each with Dunn handing out ten assists.
New Jersey Tech are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall and the over is 18-8 in the Friars last 26 home games. I don’t think there is any question of who wins this game and Providence could win by 20. I have seen New Jersey Tech play some strong games and they’ll need to here…
