The San Diego Toreros shoot for their first win against the San Jose State Spartans.
The San Jose State Spartans defense has been giving up plenty of points which is largely responsible for their 1-3 record. That was the trend in an 89-74 loss to Toledo where the Rockets took a nine point lead in to the half and never let the game get any closer. The Spartans shot the ball at 45% but the Rockets connected at just under 49% with a 10-23 effort on threes and a decisive 14more looks at the basket. San Jose State received 16 points apiece from Frank Rogers and Ryan Welage and a combined 13 rebounds with Princeton Onwas adding 14 points, five pulls and five helpers.

The San Diego Toreros have two problems and that is a struggling offense along with a defense that isn’t getting enough stops. The Toreros fell to 0-4 following a 67-57 defeat to Loyola-Chicago where the Ramblers erased a three point first half hole. There wasn’t any secret to winning this one with the Ramblers sinking half their shots while USD connected at 37% which was a difference five field goals. Duda Sanadze paced the Toreros offense with 20 points and eight boards on 7-15 with Brett Bailey netting 13 points while Brandon Perry chipped in with eight points and seven boards before fouling out in 21 minutes.
The San Jose State Spartans are 14-6 ATS in their last 20 Friday games and the under is 11-4 in San Diego’s last 15 versus the Mountain West. If you look at what each team has done there is no clear cut favorite and any bet is risky…
