The Oakland Golden Grizzlies will travel to Stegeman Coliseum to take on the Georgia Bulldogs this Tuesday night in College Basketball action.

The Oakland Golden Grizzles won their second straight game and improved to 3-0 (0-0 Horizon) on the season after defeating the Abilene Christian Wildcats, 85-57, this past Saturday. Abilene Christian hung around early in this one but Oakland was able to gain a 37-24 halftime lead and further distanced themselves from the Wildcats in the 2nd half to secure the victory. Oakland shot 50.0% from the field and 58.8% (10-17) from beyond the arc. The Golden Grizzlies held the Wildcats to 14.3% (3-21) shooting from beyond the arc and outrebounded Abilene Christian by a 44-35 margin. Leading the way for Oakland was Percy Gibson who had a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds. On the season, the Golden Grizzlies have been led by Kahlil Felder (23.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 10.8 apg, 1.8 spg), Percy Gibson (18.2 ppg, 8.8 rpg), and Sherron Dorsey-Walker (12.2 ppg, 9.2 rpg). Offensively, Oakland is averaging 87.4 ppg on 47.4% shooting from the field and 41.6% shooting from beyond the arc. The Golden Grizzlies are shooting 78.4% from the FT line and pulling down 40.6 rpg. Defensively, Oakland is allowing their opponents to shot 76.2 ppg on 40.2% shooting. The Golden Grizzlies are allowing opponents to shoot 31.2% from beyond the arc and grab 34.8 rpg.

The Georgia Bulldogs dropped to 2-2 (0-0 SEC) on the season after being defeating by the Seton Hall Pirates, 69-62, this past Saturday. Georgia played Seton Hall tight throughout the game but allowed Isaiah Whitehead of Seton Hall to take over in the final two minutes in the loss. Georgia shot 46.8% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs allowed the Pirates to shoot 41.8% from the field and committed 13 turnovers in the loss. Leading the way for Georgia was Yante Maten who had 21 points and 8 rebounds. On the season, the Bulldogs have been led by Kenny Gaines (18.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 1.5 bpg), Yante Maten (13.3 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 2.0 bpg), and J.J. Frazier (11.0 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 3.8 apg). Offensively, Georgia is averaging 66.0 ppg on 39.8% shooting and 37.0% three-point shooting. The Bulldogs are shooting 69.6 from the FT line and pull down 38.5 rpg. Defensively, Georgia is holding their opponents to an average of 64.8 ppg on 36.5% shooting from the field. The Bulldogs are holding teams to just 26.1% shooting from beyond the arc and allowing 33.8 rpg.

The Golden Grizzlies are 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 games following a S.U. win and 16-7-1 ATS in their last 24 games overall. The Bulldogs are 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 games following a ATS loss and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

Oakland has two of the better players in the Horizon in Kahlil Felder and Percy Gibson and although Oakland certainly can score with the best of them, they certainly can struggled on the defensive end. Georgia has had the opposite problem this season as outside of Kenny Gaines, points have been hard to come by for the Bulldogs however, they’ve played outstanding defense in their first four games. Georgia has a solid backcourt in Kenny Gaines and Charles Mann however, I think this is too many points for an Oakland team that should be one of the better teams in the Horizon. Take Oakland to cover.
