The Line: James Madison Dukes -4 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The James Madison Dukes host the Western Michigan Broncos in a Thursday night tilt.
The Western Michigan Broncos are supposed to be a team capable of challenging n the MAC West division but at 3-4 I’m not sure where this team stands until I see them play more. The Broncos are looking to bounce back from a 68-65 loss to Mercer where they trailed by eight at the half and just never caught up. The Bears held a hefty 52%-40% shooting edge but turned the ball over 16 times to give WMU eight more looks and their 9-17 mark on threes kept them alive. Jared Klein was the Broncos top offensive option with 18 points on 6-8 followed by Thomas Wilder with 15 points. Western Michigan ran an eight man rotation but needed more scoring options.

The James Madison Dukes might win the Colonial as many believe but if they do their defense has to develop more stopping power. The Dukes are riding a three game winning streak after squeezing by pesky Radford 70-68 on Monday after squandering a 12 point lead heading in to the second half. The Dukes did shoot the ball better 46.8%-42.6% and nailed 11-24 from distance but 16 turnovers gave the Highlanders seven more attempts and kept the game competitive. JMU received20 points and seven boards from Shakir Brown on 5-9 while Joey McLean tossed in 13 points on 4-6. Jackson Kent netted eleven points but the offense could have used some more help outside of the top three.
The under is 5-2-1 in Western Michigan’s last 8 non-conference games. The under is 7-2 in James Madison’s last 9 Thursday games and is 6-2 in their last 8 non-conference games while going 8-3 in their last 11 home games. I think if these teams both play their best I would take the Dukes…
