The Wichita State Shockers look to right the ship beginning with a visit to the St Louis Billikens.
The Wichita State Shockers are penciled in as the Missouri Valley champions but this doesn’t seem to be a strong squad that we’ve grown accustomed to seeing the past several years. The Shockers have dropped three in a row after getting whacked 84-61 by Iowa. This wasn’t competitive with the Hawkeyes leading by 19 after 20 minutes behind almost 54% marksmanship with WSU connecting at just 35.6% which seven more field goals. Eric Hamilton was the Shockers top offensive option with 14 points and six pulls followed by Shaquille Morris and Markis McDuffie with a combined 20 points.

The question for the St Louis Billikens is whether they are as good as their 4-1 record. The Billikens kicked off the season with four consecutive double digit wins before a second half meltdown in a 77-57 loss to Louisville. The Cardinals burned the nets at 53% and SLU countered with nearly 49% from the floor but Louisville totaled nine more shots and sank eleven more foul shots to win going away. The Billikens received 20 points from Mike Crawford on 7-9 shooting with Milik Yarbrough tossing in 19 points. Miles Reynolds followed with eight points but to five players had at least ten minutes of floor time and did not contribute to the scoring column.
The over is 6-2 in Wichita State’s last 8 overall and the Shockers are 19-7 ATS in their last 26 Saturday games while going 25-10 ATS in their last 35 road games. St Louis are 5-22 ATS in their last 27 Saturday games and are 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 home games while going 17-39-1 ATS in their last 57 games overall. How far Wichita State has dropped is surprising and if they don’t win this this will be a long season…
