The Boise State Broncos improved to 5-4 (0-0 MW) on the season after defeating the Portland Pilots, 81-71, this past Saturday. Boise State used a 17-2 run in the 2nd half to take control of the game and get the win. Boise State shot 41.7% from the field however, struggled from beyond the arc shooting just 29.4% (10-34) from three-point range. The Broncos allowed the Pilots to shoot 44.1% from the field and outrebounded Portland by a 40-34 margin. Leading the way for Boise State was Anthony Drmic who had 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. On the season, the Broncos have been led by Anthony Drmic (15.1 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 1.5 apg), James Webb III (13.0 ppg, 8.8 rpg), and Nick Duncan (12.8 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.0 apg). The Broncos have a rebound margin of 5.4 and a turnover margin of 2.2.

The Lions are 11-24 ATS in their last 35 games following a ATS loss and 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 vs. Mountain West opponents. The Broncos are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. the West Coast and 12-1 ATS in their last 13 home games.

Loyola Marymount has been a pleasant surprise this season after winning just 8 games in 2014-15 and losing their leading scorer, Evan Payne, who decided to transfer. Boise State is still generally thought of as a high-scoring offensive team but have made great improvements on the defense end and still have one of the best players in the MW in Anthony Drmic. Boise State is a tough place to play but Adom Jacko and Brandon Brown have been great for the Catamounts and I think they’ll be able to go on the road and cover this one with the points. Take Loyola Marymount and the points.
