The Maryland-E. Shore Hawks take the hardwood at the #1 Michigan State Spartans.
The MD-Eastern Shore Hawks have been struggling at both ends of the floor which has the team staring at a 1-7 record. It was the defense that let the Hawks down in an 80-74 loss at North Carolina A&T where the Aggies led by 17 at the half. Both teams sank shots in the 45% range and had 17 turnovers apiece. UMES sank five more baskets but the Aggies won it with 17 more free throws. Dominique Elliott paced four double digit scorers with 13 points and eleven rebounds with Devin Moore adding 14 points and seven boards. Bakari Copeland and Marc Blackmon each scored eleven points but the defense couldn’t provide enough help.

The Michigan State Spartans have taken over the top spot in the national rankings with plenty of reasons The Spartans are 9-0 with great defense and some big time scoring leading the way. Both had a field day in a 76-33 rout of Binghamton. MSU jumped to a 41-12 lead after 20 minutes and never threatened. The Bearcats were just 10-60 from the floor while the Spartans connected at 47% or 20 more field goals. Bryn Forbes led the scoring spree wit 14 points followed by a 13 point, 12 rebound effort from Denzel Valentine. Lourawls Nairn Jr. netted eleven points with four others adding between 6-9 points.
The under is 7-3 in the Hawks last 10 road games. Michigan State are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 home games and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games overall. Of course the spread is huge and is one of those games where the Spartans cover if they want and win big otherwise….
