Many expected a bid drop off from Florida but at 6-2 the team is doing well. The Gators had won four of five before dropping a 66-56 decision at instate rival Miami on Tuesday as a six point underdog. UF trailed by nine after 20 minutes and couldn’t catch up even though both teams made shots at around 39%. The difference was the Hurricanes had a 7-1 edge on three pointers and totaled nine more free throws. Florida received 14 points and five yanks from John John Egbunu with Dorian Finney-Smith adding 12 points and six boards. Devin Robinson netted eleven points and snared six rebounds but nobody else scored more then nine four points.

The Michigan State Spartans have a bull’s eye on their backs as the nation’s top ranked squad. The Spartans have faced some decent competition and some easy games and are coming off a one sided 78-35 rout of MD-Eastern Shore Wednesday as a 35 point home favorite. The Hawks stayed within 14 points at the half but MSU pressed the issue until the final horn. Michigan Stated gave up 22% shooting to UMES while sinking half their looks which negated the Hawks ten more shots. MSU was 12-22 on threes and held a 12-2 edge at the stripe to win unchallenged. Bryn Forbes paced the offense with14 points and five assists with Eron Harris scoring 12. Denzel Valentine added eleven points, ten rebounds and six assists while six players scored between 4-9 points.
