The Stony Brook Seawolves battle the Northeastern Huskies in non-conference action.
The Stony Brook Seawolves are one of the teams expected to make a little noise in the America East and I can see that with the team playing a decent non conference schedule well. Having said that the Seawolves were outclassed by Notre Dame 86-61 Tuesday as they trailed by eight at the half and then fell apart. The Fighting Irish nailed shots at 55% and held SB to just 40% which added up to eight more field goals. Carson Puriefoy led three double digit scorers with 17 points on 6-13 with Jameel Warney adding 16 points and eight rebounds. Rayshaun McGrew netted 12 points but the rest of the team mustered only 16 points.

The Northeastern Huskies appear to be a team that can not be overlooked or they will beat you. The Huskies have been tough in the early going but have dropped consecutive games after an 87-86, overtime defeat at Western Michigan on Monday. The Broncos burned the nets with 54% shooting but the Huskies forced 15 turnovers and managed seven more looks with almost 46% marksmanship to stay close. NE received a game high 31 points and six pulls from David Walker on 9-31 from the field with Zach Stahl adding 16 points and five yanks. Quincy Ford followed with 15 points and five assists and Jeremy Miller chipped in with 12 points and six boards.
Stony Brook are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The over is 13-3 in Northeastern’s last 16 home games and is 7-3 in their last 10 Saturday games. I follow Delaware and the Colonial and the Huskies are going to be a handful. This is truly a toss up so I’ll take the points…
