Wisc-Milwaukee vs. South Dakota - 12/17/15 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Milwaukee Panthers won their 4th straight game and improved to 8-3 (0-0 Horizon) on the season after defeating the NAIA Judson College Eagles, 125-74, this past Sunday. Milwaukee has a great night offensively as they shot 62.7% from the field and 55.6% from three-point range. The Panthers outrebounded the Eagles by a 55-27 margin and forced the Eagles to commit 14 turnovers. Milwaukee held Judson College to shot 36.5% from the field and 43.2% (16-37) from three-point range. Leading the way for Milwaukee was J.J. Panoske who had a double-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists. On the season, the Panthers have been led by Matt Tiby (14.2 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.8 apg), Austin Arians (12.6 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 1.5 apg), and Akeem Springs (12.5 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.2 apg). Offensively, Milwaukee is averaging 79.3 ppg on 46.3% shooting from the field and 36.6% shooting from beyond the arc. The Panthers average 8.9 three-pointers per game and an assist/turnover ratio of 1.54. Defensively, Milwaukee is allowing their opponents to average 69.7 ppg on 43.9% shooting. The Panthers have a rebound margin of 3.2 and a turnover margin of -0.3.

The Coyotes are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a double-digit loss at home. The Panthers are 39-16-4 ATS in their last 59 Thursday games and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games overall.

South Dakota lost three starters from their team last year but have been getting solid contributions from seniors (Burnette & Kasperbauer) and have been outstanding on the offensive end shooting almost 50% from the field. Milwaukee has one of the better teams in the Horizon League and is coming off one of the bigger wins in their program history after defeating the Wisconsin Badgers on the road last week. South Dakota is a decent team but Milwaukee has the size and defensive to cause the Coyotes trouble. I think Milwaukee protects their home court and wins this by double-digits. Take Milwaukee to cover.
