Wright State vs. Bowling Green - 12/20/15 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Wright State Raiders snapped their three game losing streak and improved to 4-7 (0-0 Horizon) on the season after defeating the Charleston Southern Buccaneers, 71-65, this past Thursday. Wright State used a strong defensive 1st half to take a 38-23 halftime lead and held off an early run the Buccaneers in the 2nd half to secure the win. Wright State shot 44.7% from the field and forced Charleston Southern to commit 18 turnovers. The Raiders held the Buccaneers to 44.2% shooting from the field and 22.7% (5-22) from three-point range. Leading the way for Wright State was Michael Karena who had 15 points and 7 rebounds. On the season, the Raiders have been led by JT Yoho (10.8 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 2.0 apg), Joe Thomasson (10.3 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 3.9 apg), and Mark Alstork (9.8 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 1.5 apg). Offensively, Wright State is averaging just 61.6 ppg on 40.0% shooting and 36.5% shooting form beyond the arc. The Raiders average 7.3 three-pointers per game and has an assist/turnover ratio of 0.94. Defensively, Wright State is allowing opponents to average 67.1 ppg on 43.1% shooting. The Raiders have a rebound margin of -4.7 and a turnover margin of 0.5.

The Falcons are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record and 15-5-1 ATS in their last 21 road games. The Raiders are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 home games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 non-conference games.

The usually strong Bowling Green defensive struggled in their recent game against Detroit however, this is still a strong defensive team with a great player in Spencer Parker. Wright State has struggled offensively all season and although they can be strong on the defensive end, still need to find ways to improve on the offensive end. This could be a very low scoring game but as I trust the Falcons offense more that the Raiders, I’m taking Bowling Green and the points here.
