USA TODAY Sports

The New Mexico State Aggies snapped their three game losing streak and improved to 6-5 (0-0 WAC) on the season after defeating the UTEP Miners, 73-53, this past Saturday. New Mexico State was outstanding defensively the game and outscored the Minters by a 41-22 margin in the 2nd half. New Mexico State shot 49.0% from the field and 57.9% (11-19) from beyond the arc in the victory.  The Aggies held the Minters to 34.5% shooting from the field and 33.3% (4-12) shooting from three-point range. Leading the way for New Mexico State was Ian Baker who had 26 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists, and a steal. On the season, the Aggies have been led by Pascal Siakam (22.4 ppg, 12.1 rpg, 1.9 bpg), Ian Baker (15.2 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 3.4 apg), and Jalyn Pennie (5.5 ppg, 5.1 rpg). Offensively, New Mexico State is averaging 1.8 ppg on 45.7 shooting from the field and 32.4% shooting from beyond the arc. The Aggies average 5.5 three-pointers per game and has an assist/turnover ratio of 0.99. Defensively, New Mexico State is holding opponents to an average of 65.3 ppg on 39.55 shooting. The Aggies have a rebound margin of 12.6 and a turnover margin of -3.5.

The Golden Eagles are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss however, just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Aggies are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 Monday games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games.

Oral Roberts has had an up and down season so far and although they are on a three game losing streak, they do have a couple of quality wins against Tulsa & James Madison. New Mexico State is once against the clear favorite in the WAC conference however, they did loss four of their top six scorers from their 23-win team last season. The Aggies have some great players in Pascal Siakam and Ian Baker, however, I think Oral Roberts and Obi Emegano will be able to score on the Aggies defense and keep this one close. I’m taking Oral Roberts to cover in this one.
