The Virginia Tech Hokies and the St. Joseph’s Hawks take the floor in Tuesday action.
The Virginia Tech Hokies have been a consistent offensive team which has led them to a 5-3 record. The Hokies are looking to build on an 80-45 rout of Arkansas-Pine Bluff which was over at the half with a 19 point lead. Even though VT hit at just 40% they held the Lions to less then 29% and turned 29 Arkansas-Pine Bluff personals in to 20 more makes at the stripe. Jalen Hudson led a balanced Hokies attack with 15 points with Chris Clarke adding 14 points and six boards. Justin Bibbs and Zach LeDay tossing in 13 points apiece with LaDay hauling in ten rebounds while Seth Allen netted eleven points.

The St Joseph’s Hawks are not given a lot of press in the Atlantic ten but they have actually done well in the early going at 6-2. The Hawks are looking to build on a streak that includes wins in three of four after knocking off Princeton 62-50. Although St Joes connected at just 38.8% the Tigers were held to only 29% while the Hawks sank 12 more free throws. DeAndre Bembry carried St Joseph’s with a game high 27 points and ten rebounds followed by Isaiah Miles with 13 points and nine boards. James Bemery scored 12 points with the trio hitting at a 20-35 clip.
St Joes are 34-16 ATS in their last 52 Tuesday games. I think Virginia Tech is better then in prior years but I also think the Hawks will keep getting better as the season goes on….
