The Utah Valley Wolverines take the hardwood with the North Carolina Wilmington Seahawks.
The Utah Valley Wolverines are a very capable offensive team and need to score because their defense can allow opponents to do their share of scoring as well. These trends continued the last three times out but the offense stood tall and each game went in to the win column capped off by an 83-78 victory at Texas- San Antonio. UVU sank shots at a torrid 54.5% but turned the ball over 17 times which gave the 43% shooting Roadrunners a whopping 15 more looks at the basket to keep them competitive until the final buzzer. Marcel Davis led the Wolverines with 19 points, five yanks and five helpers with Jaden Jackson tossing in16. Konner Frey added 12 points and seven boards with the rest of the team scoring 19.

The North Carolina-Wilmington Seahawks are in desperate need of a few wins to break out their current funk. The Seahawks had won five straight only to turn around and drop three in row. UNCW is coming off of a 69-67 defeat at Radford where they held a slight 42.6%-41% edge in accuracy but were only 13-21 (62%) at the line while going 2-13 from long range which were both costly in a two point game. The Seahawks received 16 points and seven boards from Chris Flemmings on 6-8 from the floor with CJ Bryce adding 14 points and five yanks. Jordan Talley and Craig Ponder each netting ten points with Ponder snaring seven rebounds.
North Carolina-Wilmington wasn’t given a whole lot of ink in the preseason but I think they are better then advertised but to what degree is something I’m not sure of. Utah Valley is more of an unknown quantity playing in the WAC with other unknowns. Could be a monster rout by the Seahawks but I honestly don’t know…
