USA TODAY Sports

The Wisconsin Badgers snapped their two game losing streak and improved to 7-5 (0-0 Big 10) on the season after defeating the Texas A&M-CC Islanders, 64-49, on December 15th. Wisconsin used a strong defensive first half to take a 27-19 lead at halftime and outscored the Islanders by seven points in the 2nd half to secure the win. Wisconsin shot 45.5% from the field and outrebounded the Texas A&M-CC by a 42-31 margin. The Badgers held the Islanders to 32.8% shooting from the field and 22.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Leading the way for Wisconsin was Vitto Brown who had a double-double with 12 points, 16 rebounds, and a block. On the season, the Badgers have been led by Nigel Hayes (15.6 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 4.3 apg), Bronson Koenig (15.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2.5 apg), and Ethan Happ (11.2 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.3 bpg). Offensively, Wisconsin is averaging 69.4 ppg on 41.2% shooting from the field and 32.9% shooting from beyond the arc. The Badgers average 5.7 three-pointers per game and has an assist/turnover ratio of 1.09. Defensively, Wisconsin is holding their opponents to an average of 63.8 ppg on 42.3% shooting. The Badgers have a rebound margin of 9.1 and a turnover margin of 0.3.

The Phoenix are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up win and just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games. The Badgers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 non-conference games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Wednesday games.

Green Bay is using a more high-temp offensive scheme this season and although they are giving up almost 80 ppg on the season, they’ve won 5 of their last 6 games will giving up just 70.6 ppg during that span. Wisconsin no longer has Bo Ryan at the helm and had an up and down season to date as they’ve been struggling offensively. Wisconsin should come out with some strong determination for their new head coach, however, Green Bay is playing well as of late and I just think this is too many points for the Badgers to cover. Take Green Bay and the points.
