USA TODAY Sports

The Indiana State Sycamores had their three game winning streak snapped and dropped to 6-7 (0-1 MVC) on the season after being defeated by the Evansville Purple Aces, 70-62, this past Wednesday. Indiana State raced out to a 36-28 halftime lead but struggled offensively in the 2nd half was outscored by the Purple Aces by a 42-26 margin in the loss. Indiana State shot 33.8% from the field and 29.6% (8-27) from beyond the arc. The Sycamores allowed the Purple Aces to shoot 44.9% from the field and was outrebounded by Evansville by a 48-41 margin. Leading the way for Indiana State was Brenton Scott who had 13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and a block. On the season, the Sycamores have been led by Devonte Brown (13.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 3.2 apg), Brenton Scott (13.4 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.6 apg), and Khristian Smith (11.3 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 1.3 spg). Offensively, Indiana State is averaging 67.7 ppg on 40.0% shooting from the field and 31.1% shooting from three-point range. The Sycamores average 6.8 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 0.89. Defensively, Indiana State is holding their opponents to an average of 67.5 ppg on 41.3% shooting. The Sycamores have a rebound margin of -1.1 and a turnover margin of 1.2.

The Ramblers are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight up loss however, just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Sycamores are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 home games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.

Loyola (CHI) has underachieved so far this season as they continue to struggle to find enough offense. Indiana State has a tough start to their season but has played well as of late as they are playing well on the defensive end as over their last 4 games they are giving up just an average of just 64.5 ppg. Both of these teams can struggle on the offensive side of the ball but I like how the Sycamores has played as of late and as the Ramblers have struggled on the road this season, I think Indiana State will be able to cover this spread at home. Take Indiana State to cover.
