The Fighting Sioux of North Dakota host Big Sky rival the Eastern Washington Eagles.
The Eastern Washington Eagles are not the team they were a season ago and are looking for a shift in momentum. The Eagles have dropped four of five after a 96-90 loss at Northern Colorado on Thursday. This was close throughout with EWU sinking shots at 47% with a 17-10 edge at the stripe. The Bears fired away at 61% but the game was close because of a 7-15 effort on foul shots. Venky Jois kept the Eagles competitive with 25 points and ten rebounds on 11-15 shooting with Felix Von Hofe netting a game high 27 points. Austin McBroom tossed in 18 points while Sir Washington chipped in with eleven points.

It’s tough to figure where the North Dakota Fighting Sioux fit in the Big Sky but it won’t be very good unless there is consistency at both ends of the floor. The Fighting Sioux fell to Idaho 74-71 Thursday and have lost three of four. The Vandals were up by six at the half and held on to that advantage to the final buzzer. Both squads sank shots at around 45% with Idaho totaling three more makes at the stripe. Quinton Hooker poured in a contest high 28 points on 8-12 from the field with Geno Crandall adding 13 points and six assists. Carson Shanks tossed in ten points and snagged five boards.
The over is 8-1 in Eastern Washington last 9 vs. Big Sky and is 15-5 in their last 20 road games while the over is 18-8 in their last 26 Saturday games. North Dakota are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 vs. Big Sky and the over is 8-3 in their last 11 vs. Big Sky. I think Eastern Washington is the better team although North Dakota finds a way to hang around in this match up…
