The Loyola Marymount Lions go on the road looking for the upset of the Pepperdine Waves.
The Loyola Marymount Lions need to score points to succeed but consistency is what is really needed at both ends of the floor. The Lions will be looking to bounce back from consecutive defeats after suffering an 85-62 loss at Gonzaga. The Lions were held to 40% from the floor while the Bulldogs burned the nets at 60% which negated 15 more LMU looks at the basket. Adom Jacko paced the Loyola Marymount offense with 19 points and eleven rebounds on 9-15 from the floor. Steven Haney and Brandon Brown each scored 14 points but their were no other scoring threats.

The Pepperdine Waves were heading in to conference play with a full head of steam with five consecutive victories before dropping back to back contests. The Waves are coming off of an 87-79 defeat at Portland where the Waves never recovered from a nine point first half hole. The defense never found a groove with the Pilots sinking shots at nearly 52% including a 10-21 performance from long range. Pepperdine’s 46% from the field and five bombs simply wasn’t enough to stay competitive. Jeremy Major kept the Waves competitive with 28 points and five yanks on 10-16 shooting with Lamond Murray Jr. and Kameron Edwards adding 16 and 15 points and a combined nine boards.
Loyola Marymount are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games. The under is 8-1-1 in Pepperdine last 10 home games and Pepperdine are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall while the under is 35-17-1 in Waves last 53 overall. The Lions are 8-26 ATS in the last 34 meetings. Give me a good reason to back either team and I’ll listen…
