The Quinnipiac Bobcats lost their third straight game and dropped to 4-7 (1-1 MAAC) on the season after being defeated by the Maine Black Bears, 98-95 in OT, this past Tuesday. Quinnipiac allowed Maine to shoot 56.1% from the field and 42.1% (8-19) from three-point range. Leading the way for Quinnipiac was Abdulai Bundu who had a double-double with 23 points and 15 rebounds. On the season, the Bobcats have been led by Giovanni McLean (16.1 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 3.5 apg), Chaise Daniels (10.0 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 3.0 bpg), and Donovan Smith (10.0 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 2.0 bpg). The Bobcats have a rebound margin of 8.9 and a turnover margin of -2.7.
The Gaels are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Bobcats are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 90 points in their previous game and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
Iona has struggled without their star player in A.J. English and continue to have issues on the defensive end as they rank 305th in scoring defense. Quinnipiac no longer has their strong frontcourt duo of Ousmane Drame and Justin Harris, but has been a force underneath as they ranked in the top 25 in the country in both rebound margin of blocked shots per game. Quinnipiac has struggled a bit on the defensive end as of late but I think their size will help them against the Gaels and they’ll cover with the points at home in this one.
