The Rice Owls pay a visit to the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners in CUSA action Sunday.
The Rice Owls have a decent scoring team but their defense can be lacking which explains their record. Ironically their defense played well and points were difficult to come by in a 61-60 loss at UTEP on Friday that saddled the team with three straight defeats. The Owls rally from an eight point deficit at the half fell short on 37.7% shooting with just a 5-25 effort on threes killing them with the Miners held to less then 40%. Marcus Evans paced the Owls offense with 13 points and eight rebounds on 4-11 from the field while the trio of Max Guercy, Egor Koulechov and Bishop Mency contributed eleven points apiece and combined for eleven boards on 10-28 shooting.

The Texas-San Antonio Roadrunner are fighting to survive the season already with not enough scoring or stopping power on defense being obvious problems. The Roadrunners dropped a 70-66 decision to visiting North Texas on Friday for their third consecutive defeat in which a 15 point lead heading to the locker room disappeared over the final 20 minutes. UTSA struggled to find the shooting touch at 36.7% while the Mean Green connected at 47% and were 9-18 from beyond the arc. Texas-San Antonio received 20 points and seven rebounds from Ryan Bowie on 7-12 from the field with Gino Littles tossing in ten points on 4-6. JR Harris and Lucas O’Brien combined for 17 points but the offense needed more options.
The over is 11-3 in Rice last 14 overall and the Owls are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Sunday games while the over is 7-3 in their last 10 road games. I think if you bet this game you must decide which team is struggling the most…
