The USC Trojans hope to continue their torrid start when they visit the Washington Huskies on Sunday.
The Southern Cal Trojans are enjoying a breakout type of season thus far with plenty of scoring and defense. The Trojans have rattled off seven consecutive double digit victories capped off by a 90-77 rout of Washington State in their PAC 12 opener on New Year’s Day. USC took a 17 point lead in to the half and were never in danger with the Cougars limited to less then 43% from the field while the Trojans burned the nets at 53% with an 8-16 mark on threes. Nikola Jovanovic paced the Southern Cal attack with 20 points and 12 rebounds with Jordan McLaughlin on his heels with 19 points and six pulls. Julian Jacobs tossed in 12 points while Elijah Stewart and Katin Reinhardt added eleven points apiece and ten boards.

A young Washington Huskies squad is playing better then one would expect with not that much experience to lean on. The Huskies looked like a veteran group however in Saturday’s 96-93, double overtime victory versus visiting UCLA that upped their record to 9-4. Both teams connected in the 36%-37% range with the Huskies sinking eight more bombs and the Bruins hitting eleven more free throws and turning the ball over 24 times to give UW a decisive eleven extra looks at the basket. Andrew Andrews led Washington with a game high 35 points with Malik Dime adding 15 points and seven boards. David Crisp and Matisse Thybulle netted 13 points each while Dejounte Murray chipped in with eleven points.
