The Texas Southern Tigers are just 2-11 but they haven’t played a complete cupcake schedule which is why they have been outscored 79-70. The Tigers faced a Southern squad more on their level Saturday and came away with an 88-66 victory with a 52 point second half breaking open an eight point contest. The Tigers dominated both ends of the floor by limiting the Jaguars to 36% shooting including 3-14 on threes while sinking half their looks with a 13-27 mark from distance. Texas Southern received a game high 25 points and ten boards from Chris Thomas with Jose Rodriguez tossed in 18 points. Orlando Coleman scored 12 while Derrick Griffin and netted 11 and grabbed 12 rebounds with David Blanks adding 11 points, ten boards and 16 assists.
Nether teams gets lined all that often until the conference playoffs begin. Having said that we have a 2-11 team giving away double figures in points to a 3-9 squad. All I can say is Texas Southern has played a tougher schedule so IF I played this I would lean their way…
