USA TODAY Sports

The Fordham Rams lost their 2nd consecutive game and dropped to 9-3 (0-1 A-10) after being defeated by the George Washington Colonials, 69-63, this past Saturday. Fordham was down by a 34-19 margin at halftime but used a 2nd half run to get within three, 59-56, but couldn’t come any closer in the loss. Fordham shot 41.0% from the field and 27.8% (5-18) from three-point range. The Rams held the Colonials to just 40.0% shooting from the field but was outrebounded by George Washington by a 40-33 margin. Leading the way for Fordham was Ryan Rhoomes who had 12 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and an assist. On the season, the Rams have been led by Mandell Thomas (15.9 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.5 apg, 2.3 spg), Ryan Rhoomes (13.3 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 2.1 bpg), and Christian Sengfelder (9.9 ppg, 5.5 rpg). Offensively, Fordham is averaging 77.7 ppg on 47.1% shooting from the field and 39.2% shooting from beyond the arc. The Rams average 8.7 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.19. Defensively, Fordham is holding their opponents to an average of 62.8 ppg on 41.1% shooting. The Rams have a rebound margin of 4.7 and a turnover margin of 3.8.

The Explorers are 10-24-2 ATS in their last 36 games vs. A-10 opponents and 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Rams are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 home games and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following a ATS win.

La Salle continues to struggle this season largely due to an inexperienced frontcourt and has struggled offensively as of late as in their last five games, the Explorers are averaging just 58.6 ppg. Fordham might have lost two in a row, but they have to be pleased with their 2nd half effort against George Washington on the road as the Rams look like a much better team under new head coach, Jeff Neubauer. Fordham’s defense has been solid this season and as long as they can contain Price, I think they’ll be able to control the paint in this one and cover at home. Take Fordham to cover.
