The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks look for a road win at the Eastern Kentucky Colonels Thursday.
The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks were showing signs of improvement last year and I expected that to carry over to this season but a slow start had me thinking otherwise. However the Skyhawks have started to find a groove with wins in six straight. UTM had an easy go of it last time out in a 122-60 rout of sub division Boyce as they took a 45 point lead at the half in what amounted to a scrimmage. The Bulldogs hit at 36% and committed 20 turnovers while the Skyhawks sank shots at 54% with six double digit scorers. Alex Anderson led the scoring explosion with 18 points and five assists with Richard Lee and Chandler Rowe tossing in 14 points each. Kedar Edwards and James Harrison netted 13 points each while Fatodd Lewis chipping in with eleven points.

The Eastern Kentucky Colonels are trying to submit their name as a challenger in the Ohio Valley but despite their record I need to see them play some of their conference schedule. The Colonels have won back to back contests after a79-70 win at Austin Peay where EKU led by ten at the break before trading baskets the rest of the way. The Colonels sank half their looks with the Governors countering at 43% for a difference of eight baskets in an even boxscore. JaVontae Hawkins led Eastern Kentucky with 18 points and five yanks while Jarelle Reischel added 17 points and eight boards. Ja’Mill Powell scored 13 with Nick Mayo and Paul Johnson tossing in 12 points each.
Tennessee-Martin are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 Thursday games. Eastern Kentucky are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the over is 6-2-1 in the last 9 meetings. I think the Colonels win but I like what I have been seeing from Tennessee-Martin…
