The Northern Colorado Bears and the Idaho State Bengals square off in a Big Sky tilt.
The Northern Colorado Bears are a pretty good offensive team but when the conversation turns to defense the compliments are difficult to find. The Bears are in a bit of a funk with defeats in four of five following a 75-70 loss to visiting Idaho. The Vandals managed a 43.8%-41.5% shooting advantage but won it with eight more makes at the stripe to negate ten more shots by the Bears. Northern Colorado received a game high 24 points from Jamal Evans on 9-12 from the field followed by a 14 point effort from Dallas Anglin. Anthony Johnson added 13 points and five yanks while Jordan Wilson added eleven points and seven assists.

The Idaho State Bengals need more of everything at both ends of the floor and more consistency for a full 40 minutes. The Bengals didn’t have much of anything going for them in their conference opener at Weber State in a 77-56 defeat as an 18 point dog. The Wildcats led by 16 after 20 minutes and were never challenged with a 45%-32% difference in marksmanship adding up to seven field goals. Ethan Telfair was the Bengals best offensive option with 15 points and six boards but he was only 3-13 from the field. Ali Faruq-Bey and Ben Wilson added 13 and nine points respectively with nine rebounds between them.
Northern Colorado are 2-9-1 ATS in their last 12 road games and are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 vs. Big Sky while going 4-12-1 ATS in their last 17 Thursday games. Idaho State are 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall and the over is 42-18 in their last 60 home games. I don’t think anything will be very easy for either club this year but I like Idaho State a little better…
