The Nebraska Omaha Mavericks are out to prove they are good enough to challenge in the Summit and their record says they are…so far. The Mavericks have won four in a row and six of seven following a 76-71 decision versus Indiana-Purdue as a 9.5 point favorite on Sunday. Both teams sank shots in the 45%-47% range but the Jaguars were hurt by a 1-15 effort on threes and Nebraska Omaha got the win with five more free throws. Devin Patterson poured in a game high 24 points on 9-14 with Tre’Shawn Thurman adding 21 points and eight rebounds on 8-12 from the field. Tra-Deon Hollins tossed in eleven points with Jake White contributing nine points and five yanks.

The North Dakota State bison is one of the Summit League powers that appears capable of capturing another title. The Bison have won six of seven after making short work of Denver in a 75-49 rout with a 40-22 second half run breaking open an eight point game at the half. NDSU simply shot the ball too well at almost 62% with the Pioneers checking in at 47%. Raul Miller paced the North Dakota State offense with 18 points on 6-12 including four bombs. Khy Kabellis tossed in 15 points on 5-6 shooting while Carlin Dupree netted 16 points on 6-7. AJ Jacobson and Chris Kading added eleven and eight respectively as the Bison had plenty of options.
