The Denver Pioneers are tasked with slowing the IUPU-Ft. Wayne Mastodons Saturday.
The IUPU-Ft. Wayne Mastodons have been putting up a lot of points and a lot of wins as they look like for real. The Mastodons have won six in a row and improved to 2-0 in the Summit after an 85-65 win versus visiting South Dakota as a five point favorite Wednesday. IUPU-FW led by 14 at the half and never let the Coyotes mount a comeback. Both ends of the floor played a strong game with SD held to 41% while Fort Wayne burned the nets at 52%. Mo Evans led the Mastodons with a game high 20 points and nine assists with Max Landis and John Konchar tossing in 15 points each with Konchar grabbing ten rebounds. Brent Calhoun also scored 15 points and added seven boards as production was everywhere.

The Denver Pioneers have been keeping their heads above water at 9-7 and could pose a problem in the Summit if they go off on a long hot streak. The Pioneers look to build on a 78-75 win against Oral Roberts that snapped a four game slide and lifted their conference record to 1-2. In a half court game the Golden Eagles owned a 53%-50% shooting edge but turned the ball over 20 times to give DU five more looks and a few more free throws which was enough to decide the winner. Joe Rosga gave the Pioneers 17 points on 4-7with Thomas Neff scoring 13 points on 5-8. Nate Engesser netted 15 point and Marcus Byrd rounded out the top scorers with ten points.
IPFW are 39-14-3 ATS in their last 56 Saturday games and the over is 11-4 in IPFW last 15 overall while the Mastodons are 19-7 ATS in their last 26 vs. Summit. The under is 8-1 in Denver last 9 vs. Summit and Denver are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 home games while the under is 18-5 in their last 23 Saturday games. The line looks almost trappish when looking at both teams bodies of work which has me a bit worried…
