The South Carolina Gamecocks look to stay perfect when the Vanderbilt Commodores come to town.

The Vanderbilt Commodores were supposed to challenge Kentucky for supremacy in the SEC but they are not beating any big names on their schedule. The Commodores fell to 0-2 in the conference following a 90-85 loss at Arkansas on Tuesday as a two road favorite. Vandy sank half their looks but turned the ball over 25 times to give the 40.8% shooting Razorbacks 19 more shots which was the difference. Damian Jones led the Commodores with 24 points and 15 rebounds with Matthew Fisher-Davis netting 20 points. Wade Baldwin IV tossed in 13 points while Riley LaChance and Luke Kornet combining for 21 points with Kornet snagging eight boards.

USA TODAY Sports

The #20 South Carolina Gamecocks is trying to stake their claim as the team to beat in the SEC and they are making a good argument with a 14-0 record with great scoring and defense. The Gamecocks are coming off of an 81-69 victory at Auburn as a seven point favorite where they took a 13 point first half lead and then traded baskets the rest of the way. The Gamecocks held a 50%-44% edge in marksmanship but the biggest difference came at the stripe where South Carolina sank eleven more free throws. Sindarius Thornwell was the top offensive option with 22 points and seven boards on 6-10 shooting with Duane Notice, Michael Carrera and Laimonas Chatkevicius scoring 12 points apiece while Marcus Stroman chipped in ten points.

Vanderbilt are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games and are 16-7 ATS in their last 23 games overall. South Carolina are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 home games. South Carolina  are 14-3 ATS in their last 17 games overall and the under is 15-4 in their last 19 Saturday games. I’m not sure which team is better so I’ll take the points…
