The Texas Longhorns look to stay hot with a trip to face the TCU Horned Frogs.
The hiring of Shaka Smart appears to be paying dividends with Texas on the verge of win number ten. The Longhorns broke a two game losing streak with a 60-57 victory versus Kansas State in a defensive struggle. Both teams connected at around 37-%-40% in a dead even boxscore that saw the Horns sink three more bombs then the Horned Frogs which was the winning stat. Isaiah Taylor tossed in a contest high 17 points on 5-11 from the field with Javan Felix scoring 14 points on 4-11. Connor Lambert and Prince Ibeh netted a combined 15 points and hauled in nine rebounds apiece.

The Texas Christian Horned Frogs are not the biggest name in Big 12 basketball and will need to pull a few upsets to change that. The Horned Frogs dropped to 0-2 in the conference with a 95-87 loss to visiting West Virginia who closed the second half on a 50-40 run to win a competitive contest. Both teams committed 40 turnovers and that didn’t hurt the Mountaineers as much with their 57.7% marksmanship but TCU couldn’t afford mistakes with 42.6% shooting. Chauncey Collins led a trio of DD scorers with 20 points on 6-13 from the field with Karviar Shepherd adding 18 points and five yanks. Malique Trent rounded out the top contributors with a 15 point effort.
The under is 7-1 in Texas last 8 vs. Big 12. TCU are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games and the over is 6-2 in TCU last 8 home games while going 8-3 in TCU last 11 vs. Big 12. I’ll take a chance with what looks like an improved and dangerous Texas squad…
